early August “Cirouss” and “Infam0usne0” streamed their gaming sessions
of the new trading card MMO “HEX: Shards of Fate” for a charity project
via Twitch. The results are now in: 489 spectators donated around
$13,000, about €9,700 – an incredible amount! The money goes to the
organisation “Child's Play”, which equips hospitals around the world
with toys, video games and books for children. The
streamers are well known within the HEX community, and the event was
supported by both Gameforge, the game’s European publishers, and
Cryptozoic Entertainment, the American developers. Gameforge would like
to thank “Cirouss” and “Infam0usne0” for making this event such a great
success, and of course offer a big thank you to everyone who donated!
There was also a very special thank you to one lucky donor. They are to
become an intimate part of this trading card MMO with the design of a
new card in HEX: Shards of Fate – with their visage on this personalised
card, they will be immortalised in the game!

Augmented Reality (AR) offers great new possibilities. We also like to experiment with it. The “ooh-AR” app for iOS and Android recognises logos, for example. Download the app from iTunes or Google Play and install it on your Smartphone or tablet and scan the AION Free-to-play logo and look at the effect. You can scan the one on the front cover of the UK edition of this month’s GameReactor on the right. Cool stuff, right? We’ll be doing more with it in the coming months.
Gameforge and Sproing developing MOBA-RPG for tablets
Together with Austria’s leading game
developer, Sproing, we are working on a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena
(MOBA) for tablets under the working title Sigils: Battle for Raios. The
free-to-play title unites MOBA and role playing gameplay (RPG)
and impresses through excellent game balance making for exciting PvE
and PvP matches. Additionally, the game features atmospheric art style, a
variety of playable Champions and arenas, a user friendly matchmaking
system as well as detailed statistics and leaderboards.
