Gameforge is sponsoring the AppArtAward in the Game Art category of the ZKM | Centre for Art and Media Technology (Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie) Karlsruhe. After the highly successful launch of the AppArtAward last year, the internationally renowned research and exhibition institute will be awarding the international prize for artworks in app format for a second time. At an award ceremony on 13 July 2012 the competition’s distinguished international jury will present cash prizes to the winners in the three categories “Game Art”, “Artistic Innovation” and “Cloud Art”.
The Special Prize for Game Art, valued at 10,000 euros, will be sponsored by Gameforge. It rewards innovative, critical or subversive computer game applications for smartphones and tablet-PCs, made by independent developers who use the medium for artistic expression. With its commitment to the cause, the publisher, based in Karlsruhe, is contributing to the creative, cultural and economical potential of mobile games.
The award ceremony will take place on Friday, 13 July 2012, in the ZKM “Cube” in Karlsruhe, Germany. Begin: 8:00 pm. Free entry! You can also watch the live stream at www.app-art-award.org The laudation is spoken by Carsten van Husen, Gameforge.
From 13th July 2012 until the 13th January 2013 the winner-apps, as well as a selection of the best submissions are presented at ZKM and can be tested by all visitors.

Der mit 10.000 Euro dotierte Sonderpreis "Game Art" wird von Gameforge gestiftet. Mit seinem Engagement trägt der Publisher mit Hauptsitz in Karlsruhe dem kreativen, kulturellen und wirtschaftlichen Potential von Mobile-Games Rechnung.
Die Preisverleihung findet am Freitag, 13. Juni 2012, im Kubus des ZKM in der Braumeisterstraße in Karlsruhe statt. Beginn ist um 20 Uhr. Der Eintritt ist frei. Zudem kann die Veranstaltung per Live-Stream im Internet auf www.app-art-award.org verfolgt werden. Die Laudatio wird von Carsten van Husen (Gameforge) gesprochen.
